Funds from a VATRE help support daily operations of the school district like
salaries, academic programs, safety and utilities. A VATRE does not create debt,
it creates additional revenue for the operations of a district. Funds from a bond
are limited for the use of capital projects such as buildings, renovations or buses
and they typically create long-term debt that is repaid over time.
